Welcome to the official website of the Matsubayashi-Ryu Karate Association of Australia (MKAA). Matsubayashi-Ryu is taught in a variety of locations in Australia, including New South Wales (Wingham, Harrington, Taree) and the Australian Capital Territory (Canberra).

All training is conducted in a well-equipped dojo (training hall), where you will be supplied with all martial arts gear required. You can find out more about the dojo & classes by clicking on NSW, ACT (Canberra) or Other under Dojo Locations.

John Carlyle Sensei is the Chief Instructor for Matsubayashi-Ryu Karate-Do Australia. The MKAA is under the direct guidance of Takayoshi Nagamine Soke (Okinawa, Japan). The MKAA and it's dojos are licensed to teach Matsubayashi-Ryu (Shorin-Ryu) Karate-Do by the World Matsubayashi-Ryu (Shorin-Ryu) Karate-Do Association (WMKA) and Takayoshi Nagamine Soke.
