IN MEMORY OF SOKE TAKAYOSHI NAGAMINE 12 August 1945 - 27 April 2012 It is with sadness and regret that we announce the passing away of Soke Takayoshi Nagamine, Hanshisei 10th Dan and headmaster of Matsubayashi-ryu. Soke Nagamine passed away at his home and dojo in Naha, Okinawa. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and WMKA members. |

Welcome to the official website of the Matsubayashi-Ryu Karate Association of Australia (MKAA). Matsubayashi-Ryu is taught in a variety of locations in Australia, including New South Wales (Wingham, Harrington, Taree) and the Australian Capital Territory (Canberra). |

All training is conducted in a well-equipped dojo (training hall), where you will be supplied with all martial arts gear required. You can find out more about the dojo & classes by clicking on NSW, ACT (Canberra) or Other under Dojo Locations.
Sensei John Carlyle, 5th Dan is the Australian Chief Instructor for Matsubayashi-ryu. The MKAA is under the direct guidance of Soke Takayoshi Nagamine, Hanshisei 10th Dan, in Okinawa (Japan). The MKAA and it's dojos are licensed to teach Matsubayashi-ryu (Shorin-ryu) Karate-do by the World Matsubayashi-ryu (Shorin-ryu) Karate-do Association (WMKA) and Soke Takayoshi Nagamine.
