Connection to Okinawa

The link between the Australian association, and it's official representatives is through a direct connection to Okinawa. It's Chief Instructor, Sensei John Carlyle, and Canberra's Head Instructor, Sensei Reece Cummings have both travelled to Okinawa numerous times to train in Matsubayashi-ryu Karate-do, as well as training and hosting Okinawan Karate masters Soke Takayoshi Nagamine in Australia on three occasions (2007, 2009, 2011), and Sensei Toshimitsu Arakaki in Australia (2013).
